Harga minyak, petrol turun 10 sen
Due to fuel hike, almost every price of other things also increased. This does not exclude the services & spare parts of cars which really have the huge impact. Already affected by the fuel price, car owners will be burden more with the likes of increment in the car services, tyrres and spare parts. It is understood that the list of recommended prices for these various ‘car related ingredients’ will be available to the public at 2,058 service centres and dealers by September
Taken from trusted source, the list is being set by the Malaysian Association of Tyre Ret readers and Dealers Societies. According to the president, Tan Heong Thong, the association could not prevent workshops or dealers from increasing their prices, but there should be some need to give some price guidelines to the public
Elaborating further, he said that the service charges had increased by 20 per cent, while tyre prices increased by 12 per cent for passenger cars and 15 per cent for commercial vehicles since January.
Giving some examples, he mentioned that wheel alignment for cars (1,800cc and below) should now cost around RM25 for the front wheels and RM45 for all four wheels, while cars of higher engine displacements should be charged around RM35 and RM60 respectively.
As for tyres, their prices had increased even before the government broadcasted the fuel price hike in June.
