Tyre is an important part of a vehicle, despite of getting the car moving, it serves as the only connector between the vehicle body and the surface of the road. Maintaining a good tyre conditions is very crucial in saving the drivers and passengers’ life. But how do we know the exact time to change our tyre? The best way is by seeking advise from the experts. Alternatively, as a driver, we should know more or less about our tyre wear conditions. Below are a few guides of type and patterns of tyre wear and problem faced due to the wear.
Type: Worn Edge Tyre Wear
Pattern: Outside tread of tyre is worn smooth, generally around entire circumference of the tyre
Problem Faced: Vehicle pulls towards worn edge of tyre

Type: Feathered Saw Tooth Tyre Wear
Pattern: Outside edge of each thread element is visibly worn while the inside edge is sharp and ragged
Problem Faced: Shimming in steering wheel with pulling, may also be accompanied by humming, whining and in more pronounced cases, squealing.

Type: Cupped Tyre Wear
Pattern: Scalloped-like, spotty, can also be visible around the inner or outer tyre edge.
