You don’t have to go negative on the Proton, Vin. It’s obviously lacking in some features compared to the Grand Livina & Toyota Avanza, but it doesn’t make it the worst car there is.

This Exora is OK by considering the price and features offered. I also have MPV. But, just wonder, based on spec stated in BH last Friday, Exora is longer and wider than Innova, but why Exora can only have 7 people in but Innova 8 with bigger space for legs. If Exora try to compare, don’t put Innova there. It is enough to compare with Avanza, Naza Citra, Kia Rondo & Nissan Livina and also maybe with Cherry MPV (China, 2.4 & Mitsubishi engine). If not because of AP, I believe Toyota & Honda (at least) can produce better MPV with lower price. If no AP, price for Innova just RM6Xk only. Stream and Wish below RM100k. Of course I’ll buy Alphard or coming Velfire.

Today I went to Proton showroom. The outside look impressive, nice design. But inside just the same like old proton. When look at the engine, again CAMPRO. Aiyo! old technology but still trying to sell to Malaysian. Went to test drive, sorry lah… pick up no power, mingkin body too heavy. Lagi notice masa change gear, ada problem lah… Not smooth. Worry lama lama engine akan koyak… Sorry not my choice, even it is cheap.

I bought a Honda Stream early this year. The value of the car is RM45,936.00, Import Tax is RM13,780.00, Excise Duty is RM38,815.92 and Other Tax(what is other tax????) RM9,853.27. And the selling price is RM150k. The car company really make a lot… But my point is ppl can produce a Honda Stream quality car in RM46k, but what we can get in Malaysia? A 25-year old company with Government Escott all the way, only can produce this kind of quality of car???? Government always said teach the ppl how to fishing instead of provide them fishes….. sign.

saw the car and tested it.. actually, the interior is the best i’ve seen from proton yet, 100% not the same from previous protons. i dont like the textures so much, or the feel and also the colour, but practicality is there and lots of storage.
surprisingly for me.. the testdrive wasnt all that bad. i’m not sure what people expect, but having driven a wish, acceleration from standstill is almost the same, with the wish 1.8 being only marginally better. the handling was good, very little body roll, and it soaks up bumps quite well.
oshiko.. is your car brand new? coz i dont think a brand new stream costs only RM45,936 without tax. impossible.

I just thinking of the maintanance…do you ppl suggest how many year the plastic parts will last until it become “kerutu”. How long the rubber or noise absorber will maintain it function..not to mention how about power window performane and price.
I’m sure the spare part price and maintanance will be expensive, not due to quality part but due to expensive (kroni)…same as waja…
I’m waiting this info be4 plan to buy exora. now still impress by Avanza especially price..

Guys, I do believed that proton have made some research on our market. The most debated factor was the price. So to keep the car affordable to Malaysian people they have to slash some of the more advance features that we might find in other imported MPV. Furthermore most of the technology fitted to Exora still belongs to someone and things like patent and copyright issues also need to be considered. This is not a cheap matter. It took more than 18 months to develop any technology. Looking at exora, I do believe everthing in exora are “cut and paste” features. Nothing is new. Even the programmable remote, it have been fitted in Holden Statement car for more then 6 – 7 years now…so don’t critised proton like Vin coz nothing is perfect, even imported MPV.

Wei Sting08, yang lu gi sampai 200km/h nak gi mana? kalo rase taknak tengok anak bini & mak bapak lagi bawak la 200km/h………..kecuali ko tu idup sebatang kera. Agak2lah nak komen pun kereta Malaysia, jalan Malaysia ni 120-140 pun dah kira ok (cayalah lan). I had a very bad experience with proton. 1st car Wira had a lot of problem. After 5 years, I changed to Waja based on reputation and the claimed that Waja is very good and it had improved quality. Well, I thought of giving another try and bought waja. Again, a lot of problem. Got the car back to proton just after a week. Betul-betul kecewa. The 64k car should not give any problem on 0km mileage… Do you expect this to happen?… I guess I just had a bad luck… but again, can we say, pay 64k and if you’re lucky, you will get a good car… I tried to support national car as much as possible, but it seems like bertepuk sebelah tangan… I really frustrated…. Exora looks good… Considering to own one, but I will probably think many-many times and surf around, wait for a while, ask around before I buy one… Good luck Exora!!!…

Advantage : Exora guna dua kipas aircond dan enjin yang berasingan, not like avanza, livina dan inove. Syabas. Tapi I tak paham camana enjin 1.6cps exora boleh dapat 125hp (sama mcm 1.8cvtc livina) sedangkan 1.6 livina hanya 109hp?? Boleh ke???

Exora memang produk Malaysia yang boleh dibanggakan. Tapi kalau nak bandingkan dengan livina, citra, innova dsbnya proton kena buat sesuatu. Terlalu banyak masalah yang disuarakan owner.. Tapi SC masih mengatakan ianya perkara biasa.. Mungkin dalam masa beberapa tahun proton mungkin dapat menyaingi ataupun ‘on par’ dengan pengeluar mpv lain. Pandangan ikhlas aku. Gua pakai avanza 1.3 first version. rooflining dah tercabut. lepas tu tepi pintu cat tanggal tinggal nampak besi. sekali breakdown gearbox problem. cat merah mudah calar. 110 km rasa melayang-layang penat rasa tekan minyak tak mahu pecut. bila brek mengejut sikit macam nak terbalik. pintu belakang. asyik tak boleh buka.

Well guys…sorry to hear all the comments on our national car from you guys.
Having read all those comments… I feel I am the luckiest guy in town.
My 1st car was a Proton SAGA 1.5S bought it in 1988 and sold it in January 1997 to buy a Proton WIRA 1.6XLi.
The SAGA was really a saga in my life… I replaced the battery and the radiator once during my ownership due to an accident involved… and the rest is all smiles to me.
The WIRA is still my prime transport and as i said I am may be the luckiest guy in town coz till today I dont have any complaints. The key factor is maintenance.
Regular and proper maintenance can give you proof of worthy ownership of your national car or any car for that matter.
Just bought a MYVI for my wife…EXCELLENT.
So guys … let us maintain our cars accordingly and use it (drive it) WISELY.

Kalau kata exora x larat naik bukit bohong lah.. aku dah pakai exora auto setakat naik bukit kat jelapang tu x der masalah aper2 pun.. sbb pernah berentap ngan livina panjat bukit merentasi banjaran titiwangsa lebuh raya timur barat… muatan aku 6 dewasa 2 kanak dgn beg2 lg… siap boleh pintas masa naik bukit 2 x setelah aku berenti di tasik banding… aku rasa muatannya lebih banyak dari aku kut x larat naik bukit???…nampak dia bersungguh2 kejar aku tp tak terdaya… aku tinggal jauh hingga tak nampak di cermin pandang belakang… n terus tertinggal… lps tu x pernah berentap lagi ngan LG (semuanya memandu secara santai jer)… ngan avanza, enova, wish, hilux ada… semua aku makan.. keta aku enjin standart…

i own one exora..my top speed for the car is 160KM/H. steady and stable, feel nothing. exora had equip with high tech function and it looks good. however, the only thing tat i cant cheat is the plastic material in exora is sucks. very easy to scratch. proton should use material like persona. It is true that pick up is abit slower. few days ago i try race with HONDA STREAM, PERODUA VIVA, and WIRA 1.6SE. Start together towards same destination, cant even overtake anyone of them, only can stick behind. beside than this, exora is the best mpv in town for it’s level especially for family use. hope proton can continue improve on exora…..waiting for the launching of new exora turbo and turbo kit for existing exora.

STOP COMPLAINING your national car. My wife and kids love Exora before test drive but i’m a bit hesitate. Finally the result is 1 to 3. I lose to them because they like Malaysia car so much. I do not KNOW what happen after driving Exora for 1 year “Koyak atau tak koyak belum tahu”, “Engin bunyi kuat atau tak kuat belum tau LAGI”. Takut bunyi macam engine LORI.

I like the car, except maybe prefer a higher cc.
As for the engine being old technology, my two cents is be careful of what you wish for, newer, more complicated engines also means higher maintenance and parts.
Anyway, campro is relatively new, would have been better if it’s aluminium based but than again does most Malaysians know how to take care of aluminium engine?

you must press aclarator to 6K rpm to change gears from low to top … Now you can bit them… dont try with car (not the same weigth) except kancil/viva/myvi.. try with enother mpv… good luck..

i like japanese and germany manufacturer but recently my graduated son asking me a car and since he got a girlfriend,i would suggest an mpv sort of thing.i went to those 3 showroom and i can say that proton is alot better than those 2 even naza type because its value for money,affordable parts and the car boot is really spacious. Plus the high specs type really came with the tv and all complete and its less than 80k! surprised with proton and they are really learned from their mistake! Its not perfect infact for all cars as well but for proton,WELLDONE

I got my Exora on 11May 2010, on 19May I send my Exora to Proton Edar COSE(Kesas Highway)for 1st service(840KM) and after few days when it rain I found out wiper rubber is spoil and took it back to COSE and was replace (under warranty).
On 9th July I send my Exora to COSE for 2nd service(6,143KM)and afer two weeks when it rain I found out my wiper rubber again spoil and took it back to COSE and this time they said it’s not under warranty and I brought the new silicone wiper at Carrefour Subang promotion.
Proton advertisement stated 5 years or 175,00KM warranty, I wonder with so low quality wiper within 3 months two failure how are we going to claim warranty later on.

I purchased Exora in October 2009. wiper rubber can still be used up to now. but I change the wiper cause swept out at a speed of 120 kmh during rain. I change like honda civic wiper … expressly did not disappoint …
