Buckle up back there, or else …

Starting today, all rear passenger MUST wear their seatbelt or else facing fine of RM300 (for period until 30 June 2008) and then RM2,000 (starting from 01 July 2008). The rule is only applicable for vehicles which do not falls under any of below categories:

  • Vehicles registered before January 1995

  • Vehicles registered after January 1995 with no anchorage points

  • Commercial vehicles such as taxis and rental cars

  • Passengers’ vehicles with more than 8 seats (not including pilot seat)
