MITSUBISHI i MiEV is coming to town

Mitsubishi gasoline-driven 660cc i electric based minicar is coming to Kuala Lumpur. It will be showcased at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from Dec 3rd to 5th in conjunction with International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC).

The i MiEV is a zero-emissions vehicle and is one third of normal cost per kilometer compared to gasoline vehicle. It can even achieve to one ninth of gasoline if it was charged efficiently. The electric car has a strong acceleration with the help of compact and highly efficient permanent magnet synchronous motor that can generate high torque from a low speed. To add, the movement of the car does not create much noise due to its free from vertical vibration caused by gasoline engines.

The electric car can be charged anywhere, as long as there is power point of course. The charging time for 200V (15A) power supply is about 7 hours while with 100V (15A) power supply is about 14 hours. This is for fully charged. Alternatively, it can be 80% charged with Quick-Charger System which takes about 30 minutes with 3-phases of 200v-50kW power supply.
