Chevy Volt, Green Car with that ‘Look’
General Motors has disclosed the most waited production version of Chevrolet Volt electric car. The new car will eventually endure its closed front grille, athletic stance, rear design graphics, outside rearview mirrors and a few more.
Internally, the car provides more comfort and convenience with much bigger space and safety features. The most interesting part is maybe its touch sensitive infotainment center with integrated shifter.
The car has Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (E-REV) feature which uses electricity to move where for the first 40 miles, the car is only powered by electricity sourced from 16kWh lithium-ion battery. The car can produce 150bhp power with 370Nm instant torque, giving top speed of the car is 160kph.
When the battery power exhausted, gasoline E85 powered engine will take over the power supply of the car. At the same time, the battery will be automatically recharged.
The battery source is a standard household 120v outlet plugged in socket for about 8 hours or alternatively 3 hours 240v charging.
