New Ford Focus RS – A Meaner Legend Returns
The New Ford Focus RS is expected to make its debut as early as first quarter of 2009. The car is an inspiration of a small team of dedicated engineer spearheaded by Jost Capito, the Ford of Europe’s Vehicle Line Director for Performance Vehicles. It is good news for those who loves the Ford RS badge as this second model under RS promises a more exciting experience after its initial 1970 Escort RS1600.
Exteriorly, the Focus RS has a lowered, sporty feature which much meaner then the genuine Ford RS. With the bright striking, metallic flake green color, the car will definitely captured all eyes. Front and rear panels were revised to a slot in a wider wheel arches and a wider track, complemented by better deeper side rocker moldings. To maintain a better temperature system, 2 classic style bonnet louvers are on top of its heart.
The car is powered by specially developed, turbocharged version of Duratec 2.5 litre 5 cylinder engine. The power output is estimated at 300PS and over 410Nm of torque.
The front suspension system was equip by ‘RevoKnuckle’, a system which is designed to reduce unwanted steering disturbance and torque steer, the impact of torque on steering in front-wheel driven vehicles. The 19″ wheels with a hided brake discs sized 336mm and 300mm front to rear.
Interiorly, the driver’s home is equip with color-keyed Recaros, a 6-speed manual gearbox and several metallic and carbon fiber look accents.
