General Motors has disclosed the most waited production version of Chevrolet Volt electric car. The new car will eventually endure its closed front grille, athletic stance, rear design graphics, outside rearview mirrors and a few more.

Internally, the car provides more comfort and convenience with much bigger space and safety features. The most interesting part is maybe its touch sensitive infotainment center with integrated shifter.

The car has Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (E-REV) feature which uses electricity to move where for the first 40 miles, the car is only powered by electricity sourced from 16kWh lithium-ion battery. The car can produce 150bhp power with 370Nm instant torque, giving top speed of the car is 160kph.

When the battery power exhausted, gasoline E85 powered engine will take over the power supply of the car. At the same time, the battery will be automatically recharged.

The battery source is a standard household 120v outlet plugged in socket for about 8 hours or alternatively 3 hours 240v charging.

Adapted from Latest Kia Carens/Rondo, the NAZA Citra II Rondo is a full model Change. The MPV is powered by GEMA engine (developed by combination of Hyundai, Kia, Mitsubishi Motors and Chrysler) 2-litre petrol engine CVVT (continuously variable valve timing), bursting 145 ps at 6,000 rpm and 189 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm.

Kia’s MG platform is used, (same to latest Optima sedan) with front suspension consisting of MacPherson struts honged off a subframe and 2,700mm away (wheelbase), a rear suspension with a multi-link layout. Its wheelbase is shorter and the trail is smaller than Optima. Roofline, much higher. All 4 wheels are fitted by disc brake and ABS+EBD.

Interiorly, the cockpit experienced drastic changes. For the entertainment part, the MPV is equip with MP3/WMA 2DIN audio. The shift lever is fixed on the continuation of centre of the cockpit and the handbrake is now repositioned to ‘legbrake’ where now it is located next to brake pedal (same as in Honda Stream).

The MPV is intended to make the best low NVH (Noise, vibration and harshness). Some of the implementation is the use of a dynamic damper, continuously-variable valve and resonance chamber along the exhaust system, and also morse-type timing chain.

About safety, the MPV is built in strong body shell with additional protection (airbags) for the driver and co-pilot. All 7 seats are equip with seat belt and head restraints. For easy rescuing, the MPV is equip with impact-sensing door unlock.

Honda City 3rd Generation was recently launched in Thailand. The All-New Honda City is manufactured at Honda’s own plant. The car is design based on ‘the total pursuit of a compact, yet dynamic from with road presence’. The exterior dimensions are virtually the same as 2nd Generation, but the roofline is getting closer to the floor. The interior space is claimed better.

The car will only come out with 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol engine. (No more i-DSI) with 16-valve cylinder head (SOHC) and produces 88kW (120ps) and 145 Nm torque.

It is told that the New City will be similar to the New Jazz, including its transmission, dashboard platform, steering wheel and few more.

The car is believed not to be in Malaysia’s market not until as early as next year.
