Automatic Road Tax Reduction Starts on June 24
JPJ director-general Datuk Ahmad Mustapha Abdul Rashid said that the reduction of road tax can only be done automatically on June 24, after the Road Transport Department computerized system is updated.
Thus, the initial reduction of road tax which was take effect on June 1 will first involve payment of old rate and the differences will be done through reimbursement, where the sum will be credited into bank’s account. Before that, to claim the rebates, the vehicle owners or their reps have to provide copies of bank statements, IC copy and form JPJ K6. The form JPJ K6 can be obtained from all JPJ offices or downloaded from JPJ website: www.jpj.gov.my
To add, the JPJ director-general said that renewal of road tax with the new rates can also be made at Pos Malaysia offices or at the MyEG kiosk or portal www.myeg.com.my
