After numerous speculation of petrol price, it is now confirmed that the price of petrol gone up 40%, from RM1.92 to RM2.70, increment of RM0.78. The new price will be effective midnight to night. So, for all the petrol users, hurry up as you only have about 3 hours to fill your tank with the ‘old price fuel’. As informed by my friends and relatives, the petrol kiosks are currently flooded with cars, lorries, buses, motorcycles and other vehicles. This phenomenon has caused massive traffic jams all over the country. For those who plan to go out for a nice quite dinner, you may want to change your plan, cruising to petrol kiosk, of cause.

In addition, the price of diesel also increase from RM1.58 to RM2.58 and electricity rate also increase by 18% for household and 26% for business users.

Despite of this unsogood news, there is little good news, where private vehicle below 2,000cc & jeeps and truck below 2,500cc will receive RM625 annual cash rebate in form of Money Order upon renewal of road tax, starting from July 1^{st. Motorcyclist with engine below 250cc also will get the same rebate.}

For private vehicle owners with engine above 2,000cc will get a reduction of RM200 from their original road tax amount and for above 250cc motorcycle, they will get a reduction of RM50.

It seems that NGV engine will get a higher demand with this new fuel price implementation.

This news was announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today at Putrajaya.
